Pirates go down

Pirates end high achieveing season with heartbreak in Britbowl
East Kilbride Pirates lost their final match of the 2009 season when they went down 8-0 to London Cobras in Britbowl in Doncaster.
In a match that proved a defensive stand, Cobras - coached by former London Monarchs' defensive line coach Tony Allen - scored the only touchdown of the match.
It was Pirates' first appearance in the championship game for six years and they matched their opponents throughout.
But Pirates can be pleased with their season overall and only lost twice. Their only other reversal was by one point against Gateshead in the play-offs and they came back to overturn the deficit.
