Pirates back in action as build up begins for new season
East Kilbride Pirates have resumed training as they build towards the new British season.
The Super Bowl will be played in Tampa early next month and the Pirates are hoping to cash in athletes who may fancy their chances at playing the game after watching the best of the NFL.
Pirates have already held a couple of rookie try-outs before starting training last Sunday.
Chairman Matthew Davies stresses that the door is still open for any athlete wishing to chance their arm.
"We’re constantly on the lookout for new guys to be a part of the team and anyone who is interested should get in touch, come along to meet the guys and see what it’s all about," he said.
"We’re always happy to see new faces at training and those who haven’t played before need not feel intimidated. Our coaching staff and players are welcoming and we’re as well prepared to teach the basics to complete beginners as we are to help seasoned veterans sharpen their skills.”
