Scottish kicker Lawrence Tynes has suffered a leg injury as he prepares for the new season.
The New York Giants' player - the only Scot to possess a Super Bowl ring - slipped on wet grass during practice.
He has been ruled out of this week's pre-season match against Cleveland Browns and it is a concern to the Giants so close to the new season.
Tynes has not missed a regular-season game since coming into the NFL with Kansas City Chiefs four years ago.
The injury has forced the Giants to draft in Josh Huston who battled Tynes for the kicking job last year.
