East Kilbride Pirates gear up for crucial matches against Yorkshire Rams
Unbeaten East Kilbride Pirates face closest rivals Yorkshire Rams in Hamilton on Sunday in a key match at the top of hte Northern Conference.
It is the first of back-to-back matches against thte Rams with the Pirates heading to Leeds the following weekend.
Pirates' head coach Andy Mackintosh admits it will be the acid test for his team.
"Since our win over Gateshead two weeks ago, the Rams are now our closest rival in our division," he pointed out.
"They lost their first game of the season but every week have improved and scored more each game.
"This should be a good test for our defence to see if we can stop former Great Britain Quarterback Pete Rodgers and to see if we can score on a defence which is only conceding 12 points a game.
"We really have to stay focused and play with discipline to get the win and keep our unbeaten run going."
