Carney to fill Tynes' Boots

No rush for Tynes as Giants call for back-up
New York Giants will not rush Scottish kicker Lawrence Tynes as he seeks to get back to fitness after a knee injury.
The Super Bowl champions have signed veteran kicker John Carney and the 44 year-old will play in this week's season opener against Washington Redskins.
Tynes is also likely to miss the game at St Louis Rams on September 14.
He has been out for almost a month with a knee injury after slipping on wet grass and has had minor surgery.
The Giants have offered no timetable for his return.
