If the secret is simply to teach youngsters how to learn to win, then how are we doing just that?

The Foundation has created and launched a series of programmes which are focused on the following four strategic areas: Winning Coaches; Winning Minds; Winning Scots; Winning Parents.

Together, these programmes link to form a comprehensive and powerful learning experience for all involved. The programmes are also designed to encourage co-ordination between schools, sports clubs, local authorities and sports agencies and to forge clear links between local and national strategies.
 
Recognising the importance and relevance of its work, the Foundation receives funding from the Scottish Government, in addition to support from our donors, which is key in building partnerships with many local authorities and sports’ governing bodies.

The Foundation’s direct financial freedom also allows it to identify and invest in opportunities that local government or sports agencies may have overlooked or been unable to attract to Scotland. The annual budget of the Foundation is in excess of £1 Million.

The Foundation collaborates with the principal national sporting bodies in Scotland (sportscotland (www.sportscotland.org.uk), National Governing Bodies and the Scottish Institute of Sport (www.sisport.com), major educational establishments and business in leading a wide range of forward thinking programmes which are designed to institutionalise a ‘Culture of Winning’ in Scotland.

The Foundation is a centre of excellence for the application of new learning and new thinking about leadership and success. The work of The Foundation includes research into the ‘Culture of Winning’ and related international benchmarking studies.

The results of this work are then applied to specific success oriented initiatives designed to encourage widespread excellence and achievement in Scotland.
